Last year’s transcontinental ride for humanitarian aid was definitely the best experience of my life to date. I went out on a mission to educate individuals but I feel I learned the most. I learned what the human body and what humanity as a whole is capable of. For anyone who has dreamed of accomplishing something great this ride is a perfect opportunity. I was hesistant and scared at first but I soon realized that any great accomplishment requires a great amount of hard work and determination. The ride was an invaluable experience that I will take with me for the rest of my life. Lastly, I’d like to share some words I discovered while reading “Into the Wild” after a long day of riding through the corn fields of Iowa…
…make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesistant to attempt… The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun… Don’t hesitate or allow yourself to make excuses. Just get out and do it. Just get out and do it. You will be very, very glad that you did.
