I decided to ride my bike across the country because I figured it would be an amazing way to see this beautiful landscape. It didn’t hurt that I’d get my rear whipped into shape while climbing through the Cascades, the Iowa hills, or the Pennsylvania Poconos. (By the way, be suspicious of the word “flat.”). It was an experience unlike any other, and one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Make no mistake – it was challenging, humbling, and sometimes exhaustively frustrating… but it was also amazing, and we had some truly hilarious laughs and incredible experiences. I will never forget those with whom I biked, and feel confident that we all emerged better people for the ride. Last but certainly not least, we raised tens of thousands of dollars for needy children in the developing world. Kids who will never have the chance to do what we did were at least able to benefit from it, and at the end of the day, that was what mattered most.
